I bought Beth Carter’s book because， like her， I started writing later in life。 Writers in college or in an MFA program have their professors as resources， but those of us coming to writing from other careers do not。 I have read other books on writing by authors such as William Zinsser， Anne Lamott and Stephen King， so I wasn’t sure what Carter would add。 I was happy to discover that her extensive background in marketing provided strategies other books have not。 She provided sources of inspirati I bought Beth Carter’s book because， like her， I started writing later in life。 Writers in college or in an MFA program have their professors as resources， but those of us coming to writing from other careers do not。 I have read other books on writing by authors such as William Zinsser， Anne Lamott and Stephen King， so I wasn’t sure what Carter would add。 I was happy to discover that her extensive background in marketing provided strategies other books have not。 She provided sources of inspiration， strategies for goal setting and tips for maximizing social media， among many other things。 Carter writes in a an engaging an approachable voice which makes the learning enjoyable。 I congratulate her for her publishing successes and thank her for generously sharing what she’s learned。 。。。more

I’m so happy to share my review about this book that’s intended for aspiring authors or one who’s just written a book！ While I’m NOT an author or have any desire to publish anything， I can honestly say that I found this book to be quite interesting & feel that it DOES MAKE for a great guide for those who can use direction for the writerly process。 What really impressed me regarding this book was the personal tone it was written in！！ The author does an excellent job outlining the complete process I’m so happy to share my review about this book that’s intended for aspiring authors or one who’s just written a book！ While I’m NOT an author or have any desire to publish anything， I can honestly say that I found this book to be quite interesting & feel that it DOES MAKE for a great guide for those who can use direction for the writerly process。 What really impressed me regarding this book was the personal tone it was written in！！ The author does an excellent job outlining the complete process of how to get started & offers an exceeding amount of information that could definitely help speed the process for publishing。 I also loved gaining additional insight as to what an author goes through before that award winning book reaches a readers hands like my own！ I’d highly recommend this book to anyone who needs information or guidance regarding writing a book 。 Her cover choice ALSO is spot on because it POPS & makes me want to read any or all burbs or tag lines related to the book！ Great job Beth Carter ！ FYI。。。 I’ve read & reviewed this copy early in exchange for my honest option & ideas！ 。。。more

This book has so many gems of wisdom for new writers。 I wish there was something like this when I started my career。 Whether you want to self-publish or go the traditional route， Beth has insight into both paths。 And for less than $10 （or even less for an ebook）， you can get all that information！
